What we have done, what we know is imperfect, and how to tell us.

This statement covers datasafe360.com/. We have aimed at WCAG 2.2 level AA. Where we fall short we would rather say so here than let you find out the hard way.

How this site is built

  • Every page has one main heading and headings run in order, so a screen reader can navigate by structure
  • A skip to content link is the first thing in the tab order on every page
  • The navigation menus open and close with a keyboard as well as a pointer
  • Body text meets a contrast ratio of at least 4.5 to 1, and the small labels that act as in-page navigation were darkened to meet it too
  • Text resizes to 200 per cent without loss of content or function, and the pages reflow to a 320 pixel viewport without side to side scrolling
  • Wide tables scroll inside their own frame rather than pushing the page sideways
  • Focus is always visible, and it is not removed anywhere
  • Nothing moves, flashes or auto-plays
  • No information is carried by colour alone

Where we know we fall short

Certificates and reference documents are published as PDFs. Some of them are scans provided by the issuing body and they do not carry a text layer, so a screen reader cannot read them. We cannot alter a certificate issued by somebody else, but we will send you the content in an accessible format on request and we do that as a matter of course, not as a favour.

Some technical tables carry a lot of columns. They scroll horizontally on a narrow screen, which works but is not comfortable. We are reworking those.
