Device data vulnerability rises the moment hardware leaves your premises. Between collection and processing, custody is somebody else’s, the audit trail is somebody else’s, and the evidence you eventually receive is a certificate describing a process you did not witness.

What actually happens

1. Engineer attendsA certified DSS engineer arrives at your location with the equipment. Every engineer who attends a site holds an Enhanced DBS check before they attend, without exception, and this is the one context in which our people are on your premises at all.
2. Devices connectedMultiple devices are connected and processed simultaneously. The engine reads each drive individually and issues the one correct command for that unit. The erase runs inside the drive, so throughput does not degrade the method.
3. Proven per deviceA known pattern is written before the erase and read back afterwards. Where the result cannot be proven, that device is failed and quarantined rather than certified.
4. TaggedEach device is tagged with a unique QR code linking to its own certificate, so an auditor can scan a machine in a cupboard two years later and pull its record.
5. Logged and exportedEvery asset is logged in the online portal for audit, certification and reporting, with CSV export into Excel or your existing asset management system.

Speed

Seconds, not hours, on most modern enterprise drives

Most enterprise drives in service today are Instant Secure Erase or self-encrypting devices whose correct destruction method takes seconds. Run the wrong method and the same drive takes hours.

We analysed signed disposal reports from an enterprise array. Most of the drives could have been cryptographically erased in seconds. Every one was overwritten for hours instead, because overwrite was the selected method and overwrite is supported by everything.

That is not a faster command. Two tools issuing the same correct firmware instruction take the same time, because the drive controller does the work. The saving is entirely in which method gets selected on each drive, and that is the part we automate.

What you are left holding

Evidence, per device, that survives an audit
